Comment: This is an old piece from the 1980s, with a very old Smale label but also a style indicative of those quarries closer in to Bombay, now covered by parking lots and shopping malls. It formed as a solid plate, an encrustation upon rock that later popped clean off its host as it grew, and now is a freestanding sculptural daisy chain of interconnected gyrolite balls!
Minerals: Apophyllite Gyrolite (NaCa16Si23AlO60(OH)8 64(H2O))
