Comment: A striking, totally different styled CABINET plate of olmiite from the NEW, Fall 2008 find at the famous Nchwaning II Mine of South Africa. This showy, 3-dimensional specimen is covered with very glassy and gemmy, rose-brown to tan, elongated orthorhombic crystals, rather than the bowtie-like balls of smaller specimens we have recently offered at auction. This is an outstanding, large example from this find. Olmiite was formerly known as poldervaartite, prior to recent extensive testing.

Minerals: Olmiite ( CaMn 2+ [SiO 3 (OH)](OH))
