Comment: An aesthetic and excellent CABINET fluorite specimen from the recent, very highly touted finds at Riemvasmaak, South Africa. A well-placed, gemmy and lustrous band of unique grass-green fluorite octahedrons leads toward the crowning 2.5 x 2.2 octahedron. The starkly contrasting, 3-dimensional quartz crystal matrix is dominated by the 5.0 quartz spire. The large octo has an edge ding, but the rest of the fluorites are pristine. The front of the piece is in excellent shape, with only super-trivial termination wear to the upper right-hand quartz crystal. The periphery wear on the right side of the specimen is noted. This dramatic specimen is highly representative of the find. These are contemporary classics. The color is INTENSE, deep green, very nice!
Minerals: Fluorite (CaF2) Quartz (SiO2)
