Comment: Superb set of Rhodonite blades, in matrix, from the same location as recent hig-profile discoveries in Brazil. This is an older specimen though, from old mining here in the 1940s to 1960s for manganese. These Rhodonites have excellent color and luster, and the tabular habit allows for excellent aesthetics in the large (2.7 cm) blade that stands above the matrix. Some damage is present on nearly all crystals but still this is a pretty and rich specimen.

Minerals: Rhodonite ((Mn++,Fe++,Mg,Ca)SiO3)
