Comment: The Meikle put out this electric golden, sparkling barite in the mid 1990s and people freaked over the quality and showiness of the material. Soon, a fullscale specimen recovery campaign was underway and much came out, but of all different styles, few of which came up to par with this earlier, most sparkly barite production. This well-trimmed piece, with crystals to about an inch, is BEAUTIFUL. It shimmers in any light, any angle, from hundreds of reflective, ultra-lustrous glassy faces. The piece is nearly pristine, with almost no damage - just a few peripheral crystals. The piece sits both on its side or standing vertically, for equal impact. The crystals are so bright, it is hard to photograph them! But, trust me, in person they are both bright and colorful AS WELL AS gemmy and transparent, more than seem shere. At around 1400 grams, this is a hefty specimen of good size, and impressive display.
