Comment: This is an exceptional group of stalactites from the extensive cave system in Postojna (Adelsberg in German), Slovenia. Several of the stalactites are the type known as "staghorn". This includes the largest (9 cm. long) in the group. The Postojna cave system is 20 km. long. It was first described in the 17th century by Janez Vajkard Valvasor, and a new area of the cave was discovered in 1818 by Luka Cec. Electric lighting was added in 1872, enhancing the cave system's popularity.
