Comment: One of the most exceptional things I have seen from the United States is Sunstone from Oregon. This material comes in a myriad of colors ranging from yellow, orange, red, green and even blue in rare cases. Aside from the the extremely rare blue variety, the most hard to find color of this material in good size stones is red. Most often, the material has a pastel yellow color, which is commonly called "champagne" Sunstone. This stone has a beautiful champagne hue with a "Checkerboard Oval" cut. Typically, many of the stones from this area have what is called a "shiller" which is a shimmer in the stone, but this gem is actually pretty clear, and good sized for the material. A great U.S. gemstone for any collector.
